I haven’t seen Ms, Plumb since she was my Kindergarten teacher around 1978, but I have thought of her many times since then. Her gentle guidance was a warm introduction to academics. I remember her playing guitar and singing as we sat on a rug. As she sang our name we would then go to our chairs, one at a time. She had a guinea pig name Spaghetti in our class and taught us how to plant seeds in tiny cups of soil. I remember the excitement of seeing the sprout a few days later. Of all my teachers ever, she had the most grace. She made for a peaceful yet interesting classroom. Memories of her and that class will be with my forever.
