Richard H. Davis

Richard H. Davis, of Norwell, formerly of Quincy and Somerville, died on March 2, 2018.

Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Gilmore) Davis.  Devoted father of Rich Davis and his wife Karen of Ellington, CT, Judy Baldwin and her husband Rich of North Bend, Washington, Rob Davis and his wife Danielle of Norwell, and Amy Johnson and her husband Erik of Norwell.  Brother of Harry Davis and his wife TJ of Ipswich, and the late Frederick Davis. Cousin of Marion and Bill Ulmer of New York.  Cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Richard worked in the vending machine business for many years before be became the owner of Davis Vending Service in 1980 where he was owner operator for many years before retiring.  He enjoyed basketball, whether playing, coaching church leagues, or as an avid fan rooting for the Celtics. He was always looking for a worthy opponent to take him on in a good game of chess, Scrabble or cribbage.  He was a very active parishioner at East Congregational Church in East Milton.  He looked forward to spending family vacations in Long Island, Maine with his family during the summer months. Richard was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Most of all, Richard loved his family, who were the cornerstone of his life. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 5-7 PM in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE.  Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in East Congregational Church, 610 Adams Street, East Milton.  Burial in  Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
