Etrulia Reddicks
Etrulia “Trudy” Renee Reddicks (Jones) departed this life on Monday, March 19, 2018, in MA, the age of 64.
Trudy was born on March 7, 1954, in Martinsville, VA to Harry Jones and Barbara Wade Jones. She attended Carver High School in Martinsville, VA and after moving to Massachusetts in 1969, she graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in Boston, MA. She later married William Reddicks and they lived in MA, their two sons. Trudy worked for Boston Housing Authority for many years and met colleagues who have become lifelong friends. She also worked at Cambridge College and Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly.
Trudy loved to have fun! She was a cheerleader in high school and that spirit never left her. She was the number one fan at her oldest son’s soccer games and her youngest son’s basketball games. She was also ‘hostess supreme’ and loved having her family and friends over for brunch; gifting them was a basket of treats which she always hand-made. Also among her favorite pastimes was shopping with her mom or anyone that would indulge her.
Trudy will be most dearly missed by her mother, Barbara Jones of Baltimore, MD; two sons, Tori Jones (Aisha) of MA, Lamar Reddicks (Jamey) of Milton, MA; two sisters, Tara Brewer of Albany, NY (George) and Tanya Terrell of Baltimore, MD (Aaron). She leaves behind her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life: Kendall, Dana, Lamar, Jr., Brooke, Amaya and Marcus. Her niece, Tiarra and nephews, Sean and Justin, and a host of family and friends will also lovingly miss her.
Trudy’s Homegoing Service will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, on Sunday, March 25, 2018 Visiting hours from 2-4PM. Funeral Service will begin at 4PM. Relatives and friends invited.
