Marie Viergella (Joseph) Joachim

Marie Viergella Joachim (maiden name Joseph) known to family and friends as Vierge passed away at the age of 65 years old on February 1, 2018 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Vierge was born to Alexis and Glouriese on February 24, 1952 in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. Vierge was well educated, goal-driven, selfless and strong-willed. Her professional career was as a Laboratory Technician and Phlebotomist.

Vierge loved cooking, sewing, volunteering and attending church, singing and often was the mediator when conflicts arise between family and friends.

As a mother, Vierge encouraged her children to pursue their education and follow their dreams. She taught her children to be opinionated, strong-willed, understanding, and a good samaritan.

Vierge was preceded in death by her parents Alexis Desire and Glouriese Joseph. She is survived by: her husband of 24 years Jean Pierre Joachim; her sister Antoinette Desire; daughters Viergelyn Chery-Reed and Mirlene Chery; son Jimmy Joachim; her grandchildren Berlin Magny and Tristan Chery-Reed.

Rather than mourn the death of Marie Viergella Joachim, she wanted her family and friends to remember her as the a graceful, spirited and loving person that she was and the legacy she passes on to her children, grandchildren and so on.
