Margaret F. Dolan
Margaret F. “Peg” Dolan, of Eastham, MA passed away surrounded by her family on February 19th, 2018 after battling leukemia.
She lived most of her life on Cape Cod, a place she always cherished. Peg graduated from Barnstable High School in 1960, and studied accounting at Bentley College, graduating in 1962. She worked as Office Manager at Falmouth Medical Associates for over twenty years and left to pursue co-ownership of River Bend Farm, Inc., a boarding kennel in Falmouth, with her partner, Kay Kelley. They also founded Adopt A Greyhound, Inc., finding homes for 1,300 retired racing greyhounds.
Upon her retirement, Peg spent many hours volunteering as a naturalist at Massachusetts Audubon at Wellfleet Bay. Her time there, particularly bird banding, brought her great joy. She also was dedicated to rescuing stranded sea turtles.
Peg is survived by her partner of 35 years, Kay Kelley, of Eastham, MA. She was the loving mother of Dirk Kokmeyer of Portland, Maine, and Corrie, and husband, Ryan Burr of Breckenridge, Colorado, and the grandmother of four: Evy and Remington Kokmeyer, and Braden and Eli Burr. She also leaves behind her sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” Nolen of Ft. Lauderdale and Patricia “Pat” Jefferson of Mashpee, and 2 nephews: John Jefferson of Idaho, and Michael Jefferson and family of California.
Peg will be deeply missed by all, but we will always carry her memory and her joy for life in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Audubon at Wellfleet Bay or Wild Care, Inc. in Eastham, two local causes that were close to her heart.

Tho we were not in personal contact for many years, we did enjoy “words with friends” together. When we did meet at reunions, or when I worked at the cell phone store in Falmouth, our friendship and mutual respect was rekindled. You will be happily remembered.

We have lost a great person who cared about the world around us without any expectations of praise for what she accomplished. It is a great loss to her friends and family,I am sure.

I knew Peggy and her family many years ago in Worcester, Ma and then when her family moved to Gosnold St Hyannis. My sister Nancy and I spent many summers at Peggy and Dottie’s home. It has been many years but they were two friends that I have always thought of and wondered how they were.
