Darryl Jansen Hart
Darryl Jansen Hart, passed on October 14, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on May 23, 1965 in Henderson, NC, the son of Alice Faye Fields Hart and Alexander Hart.
The Hart family relocated to Boston, MA in August 1966 when Darryl was 15-months-old. He was the youngest of seven children and had a love for music much like his mother who traveled the world playing the piano. Alice’s inspiration started Darryl’s lifelong love of traveling and musical skill. Not only was he gifted with the bass guitar, he could also sing and write songs.
Darryl’s love for family and friends was greater than any hobby, especially his love for his daughter Benica. She was as he put it his “greatest accomplishment in life”. Darryl made sure everyone knew how much he loved his daughter.
Darryl attended the Boston public school system, earned his GED, became a welder in the Quincy shipyard, and also obtained his certificate in Computer Graphics Designs. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix any gadgets without reading instructions or knowing how they worked. An avid cook, his favorite meal was peanut butter & jelly sandwiches.
Darryl was a member of Amazing Grace True Deliverance Ministry in Quincy, MA under leadership of Pastor Lisa Grace providing outreach ministry and mentorship. He also participated at Capital Boston where he was Chief President of Destined to Succeed Task Force Against the Opioid Crisis.
Darryl was preceded in heaven by his mother Alice Faye Hart. He is survived by his only child Benica Gooding-Searcy of Brockton MA and her mother Bonita Gooding of Boston MA; four sisters: Andrea C, Hart, Giselle B. Hart-Vann, Carliece M. Hart-Urena, Danika C. Hart -Mckoy of Boston MA; two brothers: Michael E. Hart., Bruce E. Hart of Kissimmee Florida, 16 nieces and nephews, many cousins and his special friend and companion Joyce Butler of Boston, MA.
Funeral Service will be held for Darryl at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Friday, October 27 at 11am. Visitation will be held from 10-11am. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
