Charles D. “Charlie” Costello, of Milton, died Friday October 27, 2017.
Beloved husband of June (Marshall) Costello of Milton. Loving father of Judith Costello and her husband Christopher Dunbar of Flagstaff, Arizona, Jeffrey Costello and his fiancé Meagan Hennessey of Bridgewater and Jayne Costello Goode of Milton Cherished Grampa of Marja and Charles van der Loo, Andrew and Jeffrey Costello and Harrison and Lillian Goode. . Brother of Timothy F. Costello and his wife Margaret of Pembroke and the late Genevieve and Jeremiah Costello.
Charlie was born in Boston and raised in Roslindale. He worked for the treasury division of the City of Boston many years before retiring in 1992. Charlie loved children of all ages, he volunteered in the lunch room at the Collicott Elementary School for over 12 years and was affectionately known as the “Catsup Man”. He was a proud multi gallon donor of platelets at Children’s Hospital Boston. United States Navy Veteran. Charlie also enjoyed vacationing at the cottage in Dennis and taking walks with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday November 4, at 10:00am in Saint Agatha Church, East Milton. Visiting hours Friday November 3, 4-8PM in Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE. Burial in Milton Cemetery.
