Born in Villa Fonsina, Italy, Nella came to the United States at the age of 19. She settled in Dedham and worked as a seamstress in a garment factory. She and her husband Pietro recently retired after many years owning and operating Fashion Quality Cleaners, located on Billings Road, Quincy.

Family was the focus of Nella’s life. She is the beloved wife of Pietro Lio. Loving mother of Anna Marie Kapolis and her husband James of Milton and Anthony Lio and his wife Patricia of Westwood. Cherished grandmother of Michael and Elena Kapolis and Philip and Anthony Lio. Sister of Concetta DiMartino of Foxboro and the late Luigi DiVirgilio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Monday August 7 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Sunday 3-7 PM. Entombment Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Roslindale.
