Richard worked to his passing with an unrelenting dedication to listeners and the radio staff.
He was very active in many activities with the Humarock Beach Improvement Association and the South Shore Humarock Civic Association. I am saddened to learn of Richard’s passing. He was my student during my early days at Curry and WMLN-FM. He was very special to me, and I last saw him at the 40th anniversary of WMLN-FM. I grieve his loss, and pray for him to rest in peace. My heartfelt sympathies to Richard’s family.
Dearest Dr. Mahanor (“Dad”), Liz, Charlie and Susan,
Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your dear son and brother, Richard.
Richard was a kind soul and gem of a man and his spirit will live on through everyone that he has impacted personally and through his work on the radio. We were fondly thinking of Richard last night as storms passed through our area as we were reminded of the storm videos that he’s shared over the years. Richard will now watch the storms from heaven, may he rest in peace.
As a TIC volunteer, my visits with Rich were a highlight of my week. I loved his warmth, humor, and unfailingly positive outlook.
I extend my deepest sympathies to those he loved, and who loved him.

Dearest Liz and Family,
In this moment of profound grief and most likely, overflowing with sad emotions I offer my deepest sympathy. I trust that your faith will guide you through this moment of painful sorrow.
Rich and I were classmates, friends and fellow radio-station denizens at Curry. What I remember best about him were his bright eyes, ready smile and big heart! He carried a spirit of warmth and genuine care for all he encountered… and I’ll always hold a piece of him in my heart. I’m so terribly sorry for your loss, but I know he is at peace with the loving and compassionate Lord he loved.
it was a pleasure to have Rich in my radio class at Curry in 1984. he was one of the brightest students and had a great sense of humor. I am just now hearing of his untimely passing.
