Peter B. Kenny
Peter Brendan Kenny, of Dorchester, died April 6, 2017 peacefully at home.
Beloved husband of 57 years Maureen (Faherty) Kenny of Dorchester. Loving father of Margie Ryan of Dorchester and her late husband Paul, Bernadette Kenny and her wife Lori Casinghino of Milton, Robyn Londergan of Quincy, Catherine Kenny of Braintree and her late husband Brendan P. McGrath, Mary (Mamie) Kenny and Antonio Maycott of Cambridge, Julie Foley and her husband Mark of Quincy and the late Michael B. Kenny. Devoted brother of Sr. Inez Kenny and Donal Kenny both of Sligo Ireland, Frank Kenny of Georgia and the late Eileen Paulsen, Hugh Kenny and Terence Kenny. Cherished grandfather of Courtney and Joseph Dion, Maggie, Julie, Patrick, and Sammi Ryan, Michael, Richard, and John Londergan, Liam and Hugh McGrath, Julia McQuaid and Shannon Foley. Devoted Great Grandfather of Peter, Luke, and Maggie Dion. Peter is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends who will miss him dearly.
Peter was born and raised in his beloved Glen Farne, County Leitrim, Ireland. He first came to the United States in 1954 and served in the Unites States Navy as a proud member of the Seabees battalion. He was a member of the McKeon Post in Dorchester, Leitrim Society of Boston, Knights of Columbus, and the Irish Social Club. Peter loved his family who were the cornerstone of his entire life. He will be dearly missed by them and all who had the pleasure to have known him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Monday April 10 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Aunt Maureen and family- I’m so sorry to hear of Uncle Peter’s death. I fondly remember you and he visiting my family in Dartmouth, N.S. and then us visiting in Dorchester. What wonderful times those were. I pray that he is resting peacefully with the Lord and that you find some comfort in the loving family you have with you.

Maureen and family- I have moved to Fort Myers Florida and just heard about the passing of Peter. I enjoyed knowing and working with Peter in the Phone company for many years and will miss his wit and humor. Sorry for your loss.
