Joan M. Torraco
Joan M. (McCarthy) Torraco, of Quincy, died on April 13, 2017.
Beloved wife of the late Americo Rick Torraco. Loving mother of Richard Torraco and his wife Rosemary of Nebraska, Robert and his wife Mary Torraco of Hingham, Joanne Harney and her husband John of Reading and Kathleen Torraco and her husband Bob Creech of Hull. Sister of the late Catherine Mariani, Mary, John and Joseph McCarthy. Cherished grandmother of Lauren, Maureen and Nicholas Torraco, William and Catherine Harney, Brian Sorensen and his wife Chelsey and Christine Sorensen. Great-grandmother to Celia Lynn Sorensen. Joan is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Joan was born in Boston, she attended Saint Gregory grammar school and graduated from Saint Gregory High School and attended Boston Clerical School. She was a member of the Quincy Tennis Club, Quincy Historical Society and was a former auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. Joan was an active member of Saint Agatha Parish. She was Treasurer of Saint Agatha Parish Guild and Quincy Tennis Club. Most of all Joan loved her family who were the most important aspect of her life. She will be missed by all those who had the pleasure to have known her.
Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday 4-8PM in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon in Saint Agatha Church, East Milton. Interment in Milton Cemetery, Milton.

So sorry to learn that Joan died. She, along with your Dad and all of you have been have been a bright light of friendship for me, Bette and all our children for many, many years. Particularly joyful was Joan’s time spent with Bette at tennis without keeping score and their long conversations on the QTC porch. Joan was a special, loving, caring person. All who knew her will grieve her loss but cherish her memory.

Kathleen I am so sorry for your loss and I am deeply saddened. Your mom was one of the best & I will miss her. She was a wonderful woman and a true lady! I was very fortunate to know her & play tennis & talk with her on the deck for many many years!
