Sr. Katherine Collins mfic, of Newton, a beloved member of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception for 77 years, died at Saint Patrick’s Manor, Framingham, Saturday February 4, 2017.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Helena (Murnane) Collins. Sister was preceded in death by her five siblings, Denis, John, Patrick, Mary and Nell. She is survived by her sister-in-law Bridie Collins and a large extended family of nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces and many cousins, close friends and her Missionary Franciscan Sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Chapel at Mount Alvernia Convent, 790 Centre Street, Newton, Thursday February 9 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours at the Chapel, Wednesday 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Sr. Katherine was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Youville Hospital, Cambridge for 25 years.
