Marco Garcia, Jr.
Marco “Mr. Mayor” Garcia, Jr. of Dorchester, passed away unexpectedly at age 36, Monday January 23, 2017.
Beloved life partner of Lorah Eriksen of Chelmsford. Devoted father of Kalia of Dorchester and J’Andre of Taunton. Son of Marco and Bernice (Steward) Garcia of Largo, FL. Grandson of Thomasa “Tiny” Matta of Jamaica Plain and Juana Garcia of Boston. Brother of Gladys of Dorchester and Uncle of Tyshawn and Jalen. Marco is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral service in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Monday January 30, at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday 2-5 pm. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Marco was our director of child programming at the Roslindale Community Center. He was a fatherly figure to all of the kids in the after school and pre-kindergarten programs and his loss cannot be expressed in words. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

Very Sad! Damon and I really loved Marcos.. He was an amazing person & very professional..Marcos was Damon’s after school counselor at Sacred Heart School..I still remember when he will call Damon “D”.. RIP Marcos..

I met with Marco many times at the Roslindale CC for work. He was a friend and exceptionally warm hearted to all. The work he did was truly special, and it takes a certain type of person to do it. Thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a very great friend and was always there with a shoulder to cry on and a ear to listen to anyone he cared about. R.I.P Mr Mayor and continue to rest in Paradise Handsome.
