James Frederick Squarey, of Milton, formerly of Dorchester, January 26, 2017.

Husband of the late Helen J. (Isnor) Squarey. Father of Elizabeth DeRosa of Easton, James S. Squarey of Quincy, Christine A. Squarey of Milton and Barbara L. Squarey of San Francisco, CA. Jim is the loving grandfather of six. Brother of Jean Rice of Nova Scotia.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Jim was raised in Nova Scotia and entered the Merchant Marine at the age of 15. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, earning numerous awards and decorations. Upon his  honorable discharge he moved to Boston. Jim was a salesman and owner of John R. Parry Co. Industrial Tools of Quincy. He enjoyed sailing and lived aboard his 30 foot long Cape Dory named Butterfly at Marina Bay Quincy for many years.

In accordance with his wishes, funeral services were private.
