Marie J. Tracey, of Milton died peacefully Thursday December 8, 2016.

Beloved wife of the late Frank P. Tracey. Loving mother of the late Frank and Marie Tracey. Sister of the late William J. Ellis. Cherished aunt of Maryann Sherwood of Carver, Loretta Plumer of Foxboro, Gary Ellis of Easton, William Ellis of New Hampshire, Martin Ellis of Maine, Lance Ellis of New Hampshire, Timothy Ellis of New Hampshire and John Ellis of Florida. Cousin of Marge McAuliffe of South Boston and the late Thomas McAuliffe and several cousins. Dear godmother to Kevin Manning of Marshfield and Louise Magnant of Carver.

Marie was born in Boston and raised in South Boston. She was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton class of 1938 and continuing her education at Boston City Hospital School of Nursing graduating as a Registered Nurse. Marie started her nursing career at Boston City Hospital and later worked for the private practice of Dr. Albert H. Hittel in Boston until his death in 1978.   She was a member of the Milton Historical Society, Castle Island Association and Mount Saint Joseph Alumni Association. Marie enjoyed gardening and traveling and her love for animals was immense especially for her beloved cat. She loved spending time with family and friends and stayed active all of her life. She will be truly missed by all who loved her.

Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday December 13 in Saint Gregory Church, Dorchester at 10:00AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-7PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS. Burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton.
