John F. Bassett, of Milton, passed away December 27, 2016.
Loving father of Lisa A. Bieling of Cohasset, MA, Andrea M. Smith of Pasadena, CA and George J. Bassett of Littleton, CO. Son of the late George and Rose (Restieri) Bassett. Papa to 7 beautiful grandchildren Allie, Rachel, Cameron, Caroline, Cole, Sam and Maya, uncle, cousin, and a dear friend to so many. For 57 years John enjoyed a successful career in the broadcasting industry. Affectionately known as ‘J.B.’, he will be sorely missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Tuesday January 3 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Monday 4-7 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

On behalf of our family, we are so sorry for your loss. Your dad’s death is a loss to us too. His smile…his humor…I can’t imagine a world without him. Always so warm and welcoming, he was a great host. He had a large presence in a small room; he had a lot of friends. Privileged to be former neighbors and lifelong friends….privileged to know his children…to be included at his annual Christmas party….all the years we knew him….JB will be sorely missed, long remembered. He will live forever in our hearts, he has always held a special place there.
We like to think he left this world with a song in his heart. He was much loved. Sending kisses to heaven, prayers to your family.

So sorry for your loss…..I was so fortunate to have worked with JB for many, many years at WCCM. He was such a nice person. Just want you to know his funeral service was so nice and I was so glad I could be there to say goodbye.
