Adeline J. Parker

parker_addie-webAdeline J. (Sass) Parker, “Addie”, passed away on December 3,2016. Beloved wife of 70 years to the late Calvin Parker, Sr. , who passed this year on October 13, mother of 5, grandmother of 8, and great grandmother of 1.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she met Calvin while working for the FBI in Washington D.C. during World War II, where Calvin served on the U.S.S. Arkansas. She later married Calvin on February 15, 1946 and settled in Milton, MA.

Adeline was a very active member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish and volunteered for many events out of the church. She took great pride in the beautiful flower garden she had adjacent to their home. She enjoyed hosting Sunday dinners, making the “Best Roast Beef Ever,” along with cooking all the fresh vegetables from her husband’s garden, which she cherished. She loved telling stories about her siblings and growing up. Always with a nail file or comb in hand, she was a perfectionist about her appearance.

Adeline was the devoted mother of Calvin Parker, Jr. and his wife Angela of Milton, James Parker and his wife Christine of Plympton, Mark Parker and his wife Elaine of Reading, Susanne Glendye and her husband Walter of Middleboro, and the late Matthew Parker. Sister of Richard Sass of WI, Donald Sass of AK, Evelyn Gaudynski of WI, Frank Sass of FL  and the late Virginia Peterson and Robert Sass. Grandmother of  Heather, James, Samantha, Sarah, Mark, Scott, Ashley, and Nicole, and great grandchild, George.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Milton, Tuesday, December 6 at 12 Noon.  Visiting hours in the Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Avenue, MILTON VILLAGE, Tuesday 10:30-11:30 AM.  Interment Milton Cemetery.
