James Robert Browne
Browne, James Robert of Milton, formerly of Dorchester. Beloved husband of fifty years of Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Manning) Browne. Loving father of Mary B. DiSandro and her husband Jeff of Milton. Brother of the late Marie Sullivan and Dorothy Panetta. Beloved grandfather of James and Maeve DiSandro. James was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and later attended Boston College, Class of 1960, on the GI Bill. He then began a career with the United States government that lasted thirty years, retiring as the Director of Contract Management for the Department of Defense, Northeast District. James was a member of the Randolph Elks Club. He was also a voracious reader and enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren. Donations in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut Street Suite 102, Wellesley, Massachusetts 02481. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 30th at Saint Agatha’s Church at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON SQUARE, on Tuesday, 4-8 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut Street Suite 102, Wellesley, Massachusetts 02481.

Betty, Mary and others: I was very saddened to learn of your loss of Jim. Like so many others that worked with Jim, my life was better for having known him. Jim was the consummate professional, genuinely caring for those around him, always willing to share his knowledge and time. His sense of humor always provided welcome relief.
