Hugh J. McTigue Jr.
Hugh J. McTigue Jr., of Milton, August 29, 2016.
Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester and Braintree, he was a graduate of Saint Gregory School and attended Braintree High School and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Weymouth. Hugh served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. McTigue was a lab technician at Carney Hospital and retired from the Veterans Administration as Director of the Home Dialysis Program in 1996.
Mr. McTigue was active with the Milton Pop Warner and former President of the Milton High School Boosters. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Dorchester Lower Mills Council 180.
Beloved husband of 46 years to Susan M. (Wilkins) McTigue. Loving father of Gregory H. McTigue of NY and Gretchen A. McTigue of Charlestown. Grandfather of Phoebe A. McTigue. Brother of James McTigue and his wife Mary Louise of SC and the late Donald McTigue, Rosemary DeCoste and Patricia McTigue. Hugh is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, 2215 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Friday September 2 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Thursday 4-7 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Hugh’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105

Susan and family: Very sorry to hear about Hugh. Lots of memories watching many Little League baseball games together, working at Carney and Fenway Park together.
