Arthur W. Collins
Arthur W. Collins, 75, of The Villages, Florida and South Dennis, Massachusetts passed away on February 1, 2016.
Arthur graduated from Hyde Park High School and earned his BA in sociology from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was commissioned in the United States Navy where he served for more than 22 years before his retirement in 1987.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Eleanore Walsh Collins, his parents Arthur Collins and Mary Agnes Collins (nee Mullen), and his brothers William and John Collins. He is survived by his sisters Christine Desmond of Baltimore, MD and Mary Ann Ryan of Sunderland, MA, and children Arthur Collins III of Washington DC and his wife Victoria Collins, Maura Collins Terrell of Tyngsboro, MA and her husband William Terrell, Carolynn Giordano of Bradford, MA and her husband Joseph Giordano, and Christine Kruse of Eagle, ID and her husband Michael Kruse. He is also survived by grandchildren Catherine Kruse, Aislinn Collins, Michael Kruse, Joseph Giordano, Daniel Giordano, Padric Collins, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Thursday February 11 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the United Services Organization (USO) at www.uso.org.

I’m shocked ar Art’s passing . Recovering from spine surgery and just received thank you note from family on Eleanor’s untimely passing. They were both friends and Art a Brother Knight of Columbus. Both great people and great friends….
