Mark A. Callahan
Mark A. Callahan, 64, of Quincy, formerly Dorchester, passed away suddenly on January 15, 2016. Mark was born on January 4, 1952, in Boston, to the late Elizabeth M. Callahan (Silvenius), and the late Matthew J. Callahan. A 1976 Boston College graduate, Mark worked as a salesman until his retirement. He loved to golf, and was a gifted, natural, handyman. Mark was known to light up a room with his presence. His laugh was unforgettable, and had a knack for jokes. He was an incredible story teller. He reflected fondly on his glory days.
Mark is the beloved father of Emma Callahan of Quincy, Ross Callahan of Boston, and Garrett Callahan of Nahant. Mark is the cherished brother of Elizabeth McDonald of Braintree, and Mary Maloney of Brockton. Predeceased by his brothers: the late Matthew Callahan of Dorchester, and the late Robert Callahan of Quincy. Mark is also survived by a large, loving, extended family, many dear friends, and colleagues.
Funeral will be held from Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home (5 Canton Ave, Milton MA), on Tuesday, January 26, at 9am; followed by a funeral mass at St. Gregory Catholic Church (1223 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester) at 10am. Visiting hours are Monday, January 25, 4pm-8pm. Friends, family, colleagues welcome.
