Marie Julienne Morin

Morin, Marie 001Marie Julienne Morin was born on October 24, 1939 in St. Marc, Haiti. Her parents were Marie Almiracle Miolis and Gonzalez Felix. She was the oldest girl of nine children. Marie graduated from Ecole Seurs De L’instruction Chretienne and she also later attended a secretarial school to study business. On September 2, 1961 she married Michel Morin and out of this union came 2 daughters Ketty and Valerie. Marie was the matriarch of the Felix family.

In 1967 they came to New York to begin their lives together as a family. Then they decided to eventually settle in Boston, Mass. Marie worked in the insurance industry until she retired. She was a dedicated soccer wife who hosted several soccer teams from near and far. Her true passion was sewing and designing clothes. She would sew for many family and friends designing beautiful dresses and bridal gowns. Her creativity was unbelievable in creating the most amazing pieces of clothing. She was a devoted catholic that was very involved in her parish. She frequently volunteered her time to the church and sang in the church choir. She not only attended mass every Sunday, but more significantly put her faith in action through her many deeds of kindness. Marie loved her family dearly. She was a disciplinarian, who raised her daughters and influenced her grandchildren.

On February 1, 2015 Marie suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed and not able to speak correctly. She spent that month in the hospital and the month of March in Rehab. She moved on April 1, 2015 to Philadelphia to live with her daughter Ketty.  Marie was a warrior and continued to fight back trying to become stronger when unfortunately she had a 2nd stroke on October 10, 2015.  This stroke took the very last movement and speech from her body. As her health slowly deteriorated each week both Ketty and Valerie was by her side in the hospital. But our precious Lord decided that she did not have to suffer any longer and called her home on January 2, 2016.  As Marie took her last breath her daughter Ketty was with her and made sure that she received the last rites before death by a priest.  Her wish was to be buried in Boston where she lived most of her life in much happiness.

Marie is survived by her sisters Evelyn and Maude, and her brothers Jean Claude, Guy, Fritz, Hans, Serge, and Marcel.  And by her daughters Ketty and Valerie. Her grandchildren Dwayne, Marcus, Kayleigh. And her great grandchild Ava.And a host of nieces and nephews and other Felix family members.
