 John J. “Jack” Coffey, Esq., of Milton, age 94, January 13, 2016. Beloved husband of Jacqueline J. (Kendrigan) Coffey. Adored father of John J. Coffey and his wife Patricia of Lowell, Susan M. Coffey and her husband Amir Lashgari of Quincy and James W. Coffey and his wife Patricia of Milton. Grandfather of Caroline Coffey, Cpl. John “Jack” Coffey USMC and Patrick D. Coffey. Great-grandfather of Camila Coffey. Brother of the late William Coffey. Born in Boston and raised in Milton, Jack was a graduate of BC High, Boston College and Boston College Law School. Mr. Coffey served in the Marine Corps during WWII, where he fought in the South Pacific, Battle of Okinawa. He was a former Asst. Attorney General for Massachusetts, former member and chairman of the Transportation Committee and retired in 1985 as General Counsel of the MBTA, where he was instrumental with the establishment of Acela train service in the Northeast Corridor. An avid runner and member of the L St. Brownies, he was also a former coach and past president of the Milton American Little League. After retiring to Fuller Village in Milton, Jack established the Current Events Social Group that was held every Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Tuesday January 19 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Avenue, MILTON VILLAGE, Monday 2-6 PM. (Funeral Home handicap accessible at rear entrance with elevator) Interment Milton Cemetery.
