Alice M. Boehler

Alice M. Boehler, 91, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 while under hospice care at Academy Manor in Andover, MA.

Alice was born June 15, 1924 in Boston, MA to Harry P. Dooley and Alice F. Lane.  Alice graduated from Girl’s Latin in Dorchester and attended Boston University before joining the US Navy (WAVES) during WWII.  While stationed in Washington, D.C. she met Richard F. Boehler, Jr. who was serving in the U.S. Navy.  Alice and Rich were married on August 25, 1945.  Alice’s day of passing also marks their 70th wedding anniversary.

Alice was a full-time mother and homemaker, raising seven children in Milton, MA.  She was actively involved in many charitable organizations while there including president of the Milton, MA Women’s Club and as a board member of the Milton Hospital.   Following their many years in Milton, Alice and Rich moved full time to Cape Cod, MA.  While in residence there, Alice was an active member of the Yarmouthport, MA Garden Club.

Alice was high energy, devoted to her family, a self-taught business woman, a later-in-life avid golfer, and a tireless organizer.  She found her community work as highly rewarding and satisfying as it was beneficial to those whom she served.  She loved creating beautiful homes and spending times in the company of her many friends.

Alice is survived by her children Ronald Boehler, Susan Montanaro and her husband John, Mark Boehler, Alysa Allen and her husband Phillip,  Paul Boehler and his wife Mary Pat  and Kathleen Kelly and her husband Arthur. Also survived by 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; as well as many dear relatives and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Richard, son Richard F. Boehler III, mother Alice Dooley, sister Barbara Davis, brothers Robert and Paul, granddaughter Kimberley Montanaro and grandson Graham Allen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Agatha’s Church, MILTON, Saturday, August 29, at 9 o’clock.  Visiting Hours in the Dolan & Chapman Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave., MILTON VILLAGE, Friday, 4-7 p.m.  Interment Private.  In lieu of flowers, please say a prayer.
