Marianne Walton Kiley passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2015 at Concord Health Care Center in Concord MA, where she had been a resident since 2008. She was born Marianne Clark in Bemidji, MN to Jani Mills and Carlton Whitney Clark on July 11, 1920. Husbands Frederick N. Wildt, Gerald E. Maguire, and Harry M. Kiley preceded her in death.

She was graduated from Wilson’s Teacher’s College in Washington, D.C. In 1941 and in 1941-1942, Marianne taught 3rd grade at Van Buren School in Washington, D.C. She was employed by the Departments of the Navy, Army, and Air Force, retiring with the rank of AFSC, ESD, Deputy for Communications and Navigations Systems, Procurement and Production Office, L.G. Hanscom Field, Bedford, MA. She received numerous commendations.

Her base of operations in the 1950’s was London, and she took the opportunity to travel extensively in Europe, filling several passports with entry stamps.

After retirement she owned an antique shop in Concord MA, and spearheaded Widowed Persons Service, volunteers offering one-to-one emotional support to newly widowed men and women, where she served as President and member of the WPS board of directors. She was leader in The Tingley Cluster Group of Acton Congregational Church and a member of the Acton Garden Club. She enjoyed trips throughout the NE to Elder Hostels, and she revisited London many times, where she maintained connection with friends.

Graveside service Thursday, July 9 at 11:00 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery, Acton MA.
