Rita N. McCauley
Rita N. McCauley, 95, of Milton passed away on April 10, 2015. Beloved daughter of the late John and Bridget (Monahan) McCauley. Loving sister of Marguerite McCauley. Rita was predeceased by her siblings Eileen Perrotta, Amelia, John, Catherine and Elizabeth McCauley. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. Rita was born in Boston and graduated from Cornell University. She was a Professor of Biology at Boston State, Quincy College and Salem State College for over 40 years. Rita grew up in Dorchester and moved to Milton in 1973. She was a longtime member of the Girl Scouts, attending meetings until 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 AM in Saint Elizabeth’s Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, from 4-7 PM on Monday. Interment New Calvary Cemetery.

About 60 years ago, I met Rita and Marguerite McCauley at St. Ambrose Girl Scouts. They were great examples of Catholic Women to all of us girls. My sister, Irene, and I still fondly remember both of you and your wonderful caring manner. Mary Vaughn Wilson

To the McCauley family. I just saw this online. Professor McCauley was my Biology Teacher at Salem State in 1984. My husband and I met each other in her class and have been together ever since that day. She will always be remembered by us. She was an excellent instructor.
