Muriel M. Graves

Graves, Muriel for website onlyMuriel Graves of Braintree passed away on February 22, at the age of 93.  She was born in Everett, MA and was the daughter of Everett and Marie Bellemore Graves.  Muriel retired in l984, after a lengthy career as a bookkeeper. She was fluent in ASL and took delight in teaching others who took an interest in learning sign language.   Muriel moved from the greater Boston area to Milton where she spent several years working as a volunteer at Milton Hospital.

Muriel was known for her deep love of dogs and animals and for her concern for the welfare of the disenfranchised.  She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed music, golfing, ice skating, the seashore and traveling.  Muriel cherished her retirement years through the relationships she had with her church, community and friends at Winter Valley in Milton.

Muriel is predeceased by her parents, brother Coburn, sister in-law Marie, cousin Myrtle and companion Joe.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews and a grandnephew and grandniece.

Celebration of Muriel’s life and internment will be at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and Memorial Garden of Seasons, in Milton at a later date in the Spring.  The family would like to thank Muriel’s steadfast friends, St. Michael’s pastoral staff and parishioners and her many caregivers and professionals for their devoted care in her final years.   Arrangements are being made through Dolan and Chapman Funeral and Cremation Services in Milton.  In lieu of flowers Muriel requested that memorial donations be made in support of an animal welfare organization of your choice.
