J. William Dolan, M.D., a retired orthopaedic surgeon, formerly of Marion and Milton, died at Tremont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wareham, Thursday February 26, 2015.

Born in Boston, Bill was a graduate of Boston Latin School (1953); Tufts University, B.S. (1957); Tufts University School of Medicine, M.D. (1961). He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, as Staff Orthopedic Surgeon, Travis Air Force Base, CA, 1966-1968. He was affiliated with Carney Hospital and Milton Hospital and served as Chairman of the Operating Room Committee, Milton Hospital 1970-1982. Bill served as an elected member of the Milton Planning Board for over 30 years. He enjoyed tennis, boating and reading.

Beloved husband of Jane Wheeler Dolan. Father of Atty. Kathleen Dolan Kennedy, Jeanne Marie Dolan M.D., Atty. Patrice E. Morse, Brittany J. Dolan and James W. (Jay) Dolan III. Brother of Paul F. Dolan and W. Craig Dolan. Bill is also survived by five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Church, Reedsdale Road at Randolph Avenue, Thursday March 5 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, Wednesday 4-8 PM. Private interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Thursday.
