Ruth L. (Farrell) Barkowski, of Braintree died surround  by her loving family on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.    She  was the daughter of the late Gerald and Eileen (Dunne) Farrell.   A resident of Braintree for the past 20 years, Ruth was raised and lived in Dorchester for 70 years.

Ruth met her late husband of 57  years, Edward P. Barkowski at the Polish Lithuanian Club in Southie.  She was employed first at National Biscuit Co.  then moved on Polaroid as a supervisory inspector for many years.  Ruth loved the ocean and cherished her summer vacations with her family in Maine.

Survived by her children;  Edward J. Barkowski and his wife Doreen of NH, Linda Avery  and her husband Richard of Braintree,  Steve Barkowski  of Quincy and his wife the late Joan Kennedy and Gary Barkowski and his wife,  Katie  of Dorchester;  11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Predeceased by her siblings the late;  Lillian, James, William, Geraldine and Dorothy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Clare Parish, 1244 Liberty St. Braintree, on Monday, January 26 at 10:00 AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON,  Sunday, 1-5 PM.  Interment Private.
