Roger E. Shea Jr.

Roger E. Shea Jr., of Randolph, formerly of Dorchester. passed away on January 23, 2015. Husband of Dolores (Floyd) Shea of Dorchester. Loving father of Megan F. Shea of Dorchester and Ryan M. Shea and his wife Kellie of Tewksbury.  Brother of Ellen M. Jaukkuri and her husband Gary of Quincy.  Uncle of Eric Jaukkuri of VT and several nieces and nephews.  Also survived by his close friend, Paul DeLaria.  Son of the late Roger E. Shea, Sr. and Catherine “Lorraine” (Martin) Shea. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster/Scoutmaster for St. Gregory’s Troop 66 from 1965-1978 and received the Silver Beaver Award in 1977. He volunteered for many years at Father Bill’s. He was a veteran of the National Guard where he served for six years. He was also associated with the Knights of Columbus Lower Mills Council #180 and was a past Grand Knight. He graduated from Boston State in 1976 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and got his Masters from John W. McCormick Institute in 1986. He served as a Congressional Aide to Brian Donnelly from 1979-1992. He was a Professor at Massasoit Community College for over thirty years teaching in the History/Government Department. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Gregory Church, 2215 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Friday, January 30 at 10:00 AM.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St.  DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Thursday 4-8 PM.  Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
