There are no words to express to make any of this better. I can only say that DeWane expressed how happy he was days before he passed. Thanksgiving meant the world to him. He was so happy that his mom and my mom come to dinner. He said it was time for that to happen. He expressed his love for Jackson and myself. He said that this was not just and apartment, it was our home and he was happy here. DeWane was a man with a lot of love and kindness in his heart. He will be forever missed. Your family has been through so much in such a small amount of time, and I want you to know that you will always be in our hearts and prayers.
Love Juanita
I KNEW MY FRIEND DEWANE FOR 27 YEARS. THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM WAS PROBABLY 5-6 WEEKS AGO, HE NEEDED A FAVOR FROM ME BECAUSE HE HAD TO GET TO SOME DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS. HE CALLED ME FROM THE DENTIST OFFICE WHILE HE WAS WAITING TO BE CALLED, WE STARTED TO PLAY WORDS WITH FRIENDS AND HE WE WOULD PLAY EVERY MORNING WHILE I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK, WE PLAYED LATE AT NIGHT, THE LAST WORD HE PLAYED WAS ON
11/30/14 AT 3:59PM. I MADE MY WORD, AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR HIS MOVE, WHEN THE GAME ASKED ME TO NUDGE ME , I SAID TO MYSELF I CANNOT WAKE HIM UP THIS TIME, BECAUSE MY FRIEND WAS GONE. DEWANE CALLED WHEN HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS CHILDHOOD HOME BEING SOLD, HE WAS VERY SADDENED BY THIS SALE. HE CALLED ME WHEN HE HAD TO MOVE HIS CAR TO AUNT JEANNIE GARAGE.BECAUSE HE SAID SOMEONE WAS SENDING PARKING
OFFICERS TO PUT TICKETS ON HIS CAR, SO HE HAD TO MOVE IT OF THE STREET, AND HE ALSO TOLD ME WHO WAS DOING
IT. HE MAY HAD HIS FAULTS , BUT THERE ARE NO PERFECT
BROTHERS, SISTERS, MOTHERS,SONS, BUT WE HAVE TO STICK IT OUT WITH FAMILY , SOME DAYS HE WOULD CALL ME AND TELL ME THAT HE WAS RIDING THE TROLLEY BACK
AND FORTH FROM ASHMONT TO MATTAPAN SQUARE, HE WAS
WORRIED ABOUT HIS CHILDHOOD HOME BEING SOLD, AMONG OTHER THINGS. WE NEVER LOST CONTACT. WE WOULD TALK ALMOST DAILY AND THAT IS WHY I AM GOING TO MISS HIM SO MUCH. I LAST TALK TO HIM ON WEDNESDAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING, HE WAS TELLING ME HIS MENU. TO THE HAMPTON -CASH FAMILY MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL AT THIS TIME.
