William T. Dolan

Dolan, William T. for website onlyWilliam T. “Bill” Dolan, 67, of Marshfield and Virginia Beach, VA formerly of Milton, died October 31, 2014 after a brief illness.  His parents Joe and Virginia Dolan, his sister Kathy Newberry, and his first wife Janet Keezer of Eastport, Maine predeceased him. A passionate family man, he is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years Jill Byerly, his loving daughter Jennifer Hipsher and her husband Matt of Virginia Beach, his beloved grandchildren Will and Zach, his sisters Terry Dolan of Dorchester, Martha Cosgrove and her husband Brian of Milton, his brothers Joe Dolan, Jr. of Milton, Tom Dolan and his wife Maura of Westboro, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  Bill attended Boston College High School and graduated from Fairfield University in 1969.  Following graduation he served for four years in the US Navy as a radioman, based initially in Machias, Maine subsequently in Keflavik, Iceland and finally on board the USS MacDonough. He retired several years ago after a long and successful career as an insurance adjuster and fraud investigator.  One of his great joys throughout his life was sailing on Spy Pond, in Boston Harbor, and in the Caribbean. Family and friends are invited to a wake at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, Friday November 7th from 4 pm to 8 pm including a brief service of remembrance at 7 pm.  Private interment services, honoring Bill’s request that his ashes be buried at sea, will be held in the spring. The family requests that no flowers be sent, but instead that donations be made in Bill’s memory to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, or to the charity of your choice.
