James P. Kennedy
James P. Kennedy, of Milton, passed away peacefully Tuesday August 192014, surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband of 49 years to Ann T. (McArdle) Kennedy. Loving father of Ann P. Mariano and her husband Andrew of Quincy, Jacqueline M. Butts and her husband David of Milton, Patrick J. Kennedy and his wife Michelle of Milton, Mary Ellen Green and her husband Keith of Canterbury, Ct. and James C. Kennedy, Esq., of Milton. Cherished Papa of Andrew, John and Victoria Mariano, Steven, Caroline and Olivia Butts, Patrick, Tyler, Braden and Ryan Kennedy, and Brendan, Christopher, Cameron and Chloe Green. Son of the late Patrick J and Mary Kennedy. Brother of Norah M. Curtin, John F. Kennedy and Paul K. Kennedy, all of Quincy.
Jim was co-owner of Patrick J. Kennedy and Sons, Inc. Mechanical Contractors, Boston. He was a veteran of the United States Army and Active Senior Vice Commander, American Legion Post #114, Member of the Knights of Columbus Dorchester Council No. 107 and a Member of the Quincy Lodge of Elks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, Saturday August 23 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, Friday 4-8 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Jim’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
