Francis C. McGerity , Ret. BFD, of Milton passed away on April 12, 2014.  He is survived by his loving wife Margaret L. “Peggy” (Dakin) McGerity of Milton, his children Margaret A. McGerity and her husband Max Folkenflik of NY, Rev. Francis X. McGerity of Brighton and Robert J. McGerity of Dedham., step children, Margaret “Peggy” Bagley and her husband James, Ann Federico and  Mary Federico.    Francis is also survived by his siblings Rose Hamilton, Barbara Hickam, Roland McGerity and his grandchildren  Alexander Folkenflik, Andrew Folkenflik, Stacey LaFleur, Lisa Coutin, John McGerity, Joseph McGerity, step grandchildren;  Daniel Bagley, Allison Bagley, Ryan Saraiva,  Krystle Proverb, John Proverb, Vincent Proverb, Alyssa Federico, Gianna Federico.  He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret M. (Ford)  McGerity, his daughter Kathleen A. Coutin and his sister Muriel Mickel.   Francis was proud to be the oldest surviving retired Boston Firefighter he was also a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.  A funeral service will be held in Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, on Friday, April 25 at 12:30 PM .An hour of visitation will be held beginning at 11:30 A.M.   Relatives and friends invited.  Interment Milton Cemetery.
