Timothy “Timmy” Velasquez was born on January 20, 1943 in Tela Honduras. He was the son of the late Simon Rivas, and Adela Velasquez. Timmy immigrated to Boston from Tela Honduras in January 1967. He was employed with Kinney Vacuum in Canton, MA for over 30 years before retiring in June of 2002.
Timmy was very special to many people, and was admired and known for his meekness, quietness, and his soft loving spirit. Everyone was always welcomed in his home, and he will always give his five star hospitable attention to everyone that entered his home always making his family and friends feel at home.
Timmy was not much of a talker, but he loved to play cards and dance. He was a lover of all types of music especially his Soca Music, Rhythm and Blues, and his Punta Music from his native land Honduras.
Timmy loved all sports and he was faithful and dedicated to his favorite teams, The Boston Red Sox, and The Boston Celtics. He was a lover of all types of food, but his favorite was Tamales, Pigs Feet, and Chicharrones.
Timmy leaves to mourn his wife of 35 years Olga Suazo Velasquez, His aunt Kety from New York, his brother Rony from Honduras, his brother Gene, and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Funeral service at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Friday March 14 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Boston.
