Thomas F. McCarthy
McCarthy, Tom “Poppy” of Quincy and formerly of Milton passed away on January 2, 2014. Tom was the beloved husband and companion to Judith Jamison McCarthy for 52 years. Cherished father of Thomas McCarthy of Taunton, Jenny Nardone of Swampscott and Amy Jamison McCarthy of Kingston. The loving father-in-law to Mirela McCarthy, Joe Nardone and Stephen Williams. Poppy was adored by his grandchildren James McCarthy, Zoe and Sophia Nardone and Cristian Petcu. Our dad was a quiet listener and a giver of sound advice. Tom was a captain, a sailor, an encyclopedia of American history, a story teller, a music lover and an expert pumpkin carver. Tom was charming and filled with hope with a smile for everyone. Tom will be missed by his family and his loyal companion Boyo the cat. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Agatha Church in Milton on Friday, January 10 at 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation in Tom’s name may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Boston, 500 Rutherford Avenue, Suite 200, Charlestown, MA 02129.

of when we were at Milton High You and Tom were the best and a perfect couple. I give thanks to God for your 52 years of marriage. .
I know your children know how blessed they are to have you as parents. Tom as finished his journey to God and we continue on ours. I will keep him and all of you in prayer
Dear Judy and family,
Paul and I are so very sorry to learn of Tom’s passing. We have a special memory of Judy and Tom as Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother at our Halloween Party in 1963. You were both such fun.
