Joseph Herve Romain

Romain, Joseph Herve for website

Joseph Hervé Romain was a son, a brother, a father, a grand-father, a nephew, a cousin, an uncle and a friend.  He was born in Cayes-Jacmel, Haiti on April 16, 1951.  The second of nine children of the late Iliodor Romain and Princina Syverain, he attended primary and secondary schools in Jacmel.  He was the lead singer of “Les Invincibles de Jacmel”.  Hervé moved to Boston in the early 1980’s to follow his mother and siblings. He drove a taxi for the most part and travelled back to Haiti every chance he had.  Hervé “Touvé”, as many called him, was the “man” of the people; everyone was his friend.  He loved helping others.  Photography was his passion; at every gathering, you’ll find him behind his lenses.

Hervé is survived by his mother, Princina Romain, his ex-wife Marie Carmelle David, his children Nirva, Yves Adwenson, Ginadelle, Gary and Evenson, his grand-children Annadelle, Ange Darla, Darilsen, his siblings (biological and adopted) Clerveau, Marie Lourdes, Rose Laure, Patrick, Reynold, Henrick, Phillipe, Kettie, Francoise, Thierie, Lynda, Augustin, Margaret, Irvelt and Immaculee; his brothers and sisters-in-law, countless cousins, nieces and nephews, his uncle Milliadaire Syverain and his aunt and Godmother Orica Constantin.
