Joan M. Miller
Joan M. (Sullivan) Miller, of Milton, an active member of St. Agatha Parish, died on Sunday, October 6 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton. She was 75. Born in Boston and raised in the city’s Mission Hill neighborhood, Joan was a graduate of Mission High School. From Mission Hill, Joan moved to Brighton where she raised her family and then Belmont, Braintree and Bridgewater with family until moving to Milton in 2006. Joan’s move to Milton was a significant change for a woman whose life was so devoted to caring for her family. For the first time, she was able to do more of the things she enjoyed. A faithful Catholic and avid sports fan, she found a home in the community of St. Agatha Parish and enjoyment in watching sports. At St. Agatha’s, she was active in the Legion of Mary, Eucharistic adoration and the traditional choir, which so rekindled an interest in music that Joan recently started taking piano lessons. When it came to sports, she cheered most for her grandchildren at their games but still proudly followed her Red Sox and Patriots. Joan was the beloved wife of the Late John Miller, Jr., the devoted mother of Nancy Stuart and her husband Daniel of Braintree, Judith Campbell and her husband Gregory of Texas, David Miller, BPD and his wife Rosemary of Bridgewater, and Kathryn Cirino and her husband John of Charlton; the cherished “Grandma” and Nannie” to Brian, Stephen, Alexander, Jessica, David, Jr., Emily and Kathleen and the loving sister to Janet Chaput of Arlington and the late James J. Sullivan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Milton on Friday, October 11 at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON, Thursday, 4-8 PM. Interment Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the Friends of the Milton Council on Aging Transportation Fund 10 Walnut St. Milton, MA 02186.
