Stephen A. Chiavaroli Sr.
Stephen A. Chiavaroli, Sr., 83 years of age, died peacefully and unexpectedly at Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center on Saturday, March 16th surrounded by his wife and family. Stephen was born and raised in Quincy and resided in Milton for the past 65 years. Steve was the husband of Patricia L. (Fidler) Chiavaroli for 65 years.
In his younger years Steve spent 20 years as a private contractor working on both residential and commercial sites in the Boston area. He was also employed by Stone and Webster engineering as a Quality Control Inspector and retired from the Town of Milton Assessor’s Office.
Steve had many pastimes, including 20 winters in Florida, golfing, fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, yard maintenance, cooking and was very involved with the West Quincy Trivia Club. His most precious time was spent with his loving grandchildren.
He is survived his devoted wife Patricia (Fidler) Chiavaroli. His four children Carol Libby and her husband David of North Monmouth, ME, Stephen A. Jr. and his wife Cindy of Paxton, MA, James and his wife Eileen of Norwell, MA, and Mary Beth Chiavaroli formerly Neary of Milton. Also survived by 11 loving grandchildren, David Libby Jr. of Florida Derek Libby, Chad Libby and Kristen Genovese of Maine, Clayton Chiavaroli, Adrienne Chiavaroli, Hillary Chiavaroli and Stephen A. Chiavaroli III, Janelle Eddy, Kayla Roach, and Jack Chiavaroli all of MA. He also leaves 12 great grandchildren. Steve is also survived by many neices and nephews including a special nephew, Thomas Plant. Stephen was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Chiavaroli, and brother of Barbara Carnali and her husband Richard of Quincy, Paul Chiavaroli and his wife Joanne of Marshfield, and Bruna Ascenzi of Rhode Island. He was predeceased by his siblings, Jenny Joyce, Domenic Chiavaroli, Edeal Plant, Bella Tobin, Vera Caramanica, Carlo Chiavaroli, Gloria Robicheau, Catherine Collins, Louise Chiavaroli, John Chiavaroli, and Lois Chiavaroli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha’s Church, Milton on Thursday, March 21 at 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Stephen’s name to: The Massachusetts Chapter Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts Street, Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458-1287.

I want to thank you for playing a pivotal role in my early development and for always taking an interest in my well-being. Thank you for always remembering me on my birthday and for participating in and celebrating the special occasions of my life. Most importantly, I want to thank you for the friendship you provided my family over the years. I am sorry that I will not be able to make it back east to pay my respects in person. Know that I will be thinking of you and that you will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks for being a terrific Godfather.
