Sister Mary Matthew Riley mfic, of Newton, March 16, 2013. A Professed member of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception for over 60 years, Sr. Matthew was an educator. She was one of the founding sisters at Saint Mary of the Hills School in Milton, where she taught from 1958 to 1962 and also taught for many years at Mount Alvernia Academy in Newton, where she was Principal from 1988 to 1994. Daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Malone) Riley. Sister of the late Joseph Riley, Matthew Riley and Ann Carney. Sr. Matthew is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and her Franciscan sisters. Visitation Wednesday March 20 at 8:30 AM in the Mount Alvernia Convent Chapel, 790 Centre Street, Newton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in at chapel Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
