An angel now in Heaven. The memories of us working at Champs in Braintree, I will hold close to my heart. You were always smiling, break dancing, hyper..you were just being YOU. May you rest in paradise baby boy. Watch over your beautiful children and your family. My prayers goes out to the family. <3
I am Alfonso’s college admissions advisor. If there was one thing I could leave his family, fiance, and 2 little girls with, it’s this: Alfonso was one of the most amazing people I had ever met. When I first met with him to help him figure out what he wanted to do, he didn’t shy away from enrolling into the hardest program the school offered. He wanted a degree in Electronics not only for himself, but to make his family proud. When invited to move forward into the Bachelors degree program from the Associates, he hugged me and said, “Of course! I want to make my daughter proud!”. The day he was scheduled to come in for his financial aid appointment, he looked like he hadn’t slept all night. He said, “I was in the hospital watching my new baby come into the world!”. He STILL came in to finish his paperwork, because finishing school was just as important to him as having his daughter.
Aside from having the drive to move forward in his life, he was also one of the nicest people I had ever met. When I got married, he was the first person to ask how the honeymoon went and to see pictures from the wedding. When another student was struggling, he was the first to encourage them not to give up. When he would get frustrated with school work, he would always remind himself that he was there to make a better life for his family. I have truly been affected by Alfonso and so have a lot of other people. I wanted you all to know that he was a valued person in my life, and the lives of those at ITT Tech in Norwood. We all miss him. May God Bless the Rivas family.
