Mary Margaret (Kelley) McNeil

Mary Margaret (Kelley) McNeil, age 99, of Milton, died peacefully at home with her family, Tuesday May 29, 2012.  Mary was a Gold Star Mother.  Born in Cambridge, June 7, 1913 to Eugene M Kelley and Kathleen E. (Manson)Kelley. Loving wife of the late Lawrence C. McNeil, Sr., mother of the late CPL Joseph D. McNeil, USMC, who died in Vietnam, and sister of the late William Kelley. Mary was the loving mother of  Lawrence C. McNeil, Jr  and his wife Rebecca, Robert M. McNeil and his wife Rita, Christopher P. McNeil and his wife Martha and Marilyn McNeil. Mary is also survived by one sister,  Dorothy Donovan. Loving  grandmother of Robert McNeil, Jr., Rebecca, James, Colby, Joanne, Daniel, and Linda McNeil and a large extended family of many nieces and nephews. She was a 59 year resident of Milton and a communicant of Saint Mary of the Hills Church in Milton. She was an accomplished artist and kept a beautiful garden. Mary was a very strong woman.  Anyone who lives to this advanced age must be strong physically and also very strong in character and faith.  Her faith was with the Catholic Church.  This faith developed during her early years and stayed steady and strong her entire life. She always knew the right thing to do regardless of her situation.  Her strong character was augmented by her gentle demeanor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Mary of the Hills Church, Milton, Friday June 1 at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Thursday 4-8 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
