Irene M. (Aspessi) Johnson
Irene C. (Aspessi) Johnson, a retired bank executive, died at Milton Hospital, Sunday June 26, 2011. She was 85 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, she graduated from Saint Gregory’s High School. Mrs. Johnson was employed in the banking industry for over 36 years, retiring as a vice president and branch manager for Merchant Cooperative Bank in Dorchester in 1990. She had worked for Dorchester Savings Bank and Minot Cooperative Bank. A member of the Dorchester Board of Trade, she was very active in community groups in Dorchester. Beloved wife of the late Carl A. Johnson. Loving mother of Kenneth C. and his wife Suzanne M. Johnson of Milton, Robert A. and his wife Linda Johnson of Scituate and Paul A. and his wife Andrea Johnson of Hanover. Sister of Helen O’Brien of Quincy and the late Louis C. Aspessi Jr. Irene is also survived by ten grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Thursday June 30 at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

To the Johnson Family: I remember your mom most vividly when my mom took me along on trips to the local bank in Dorchester. My mom would always stop to chat with her. As I remember, she was a loving lady and as a child I thought she had lots of money because she worked in a bank! My prayers are with you and your family. R.I.P.
