James J. McHugh Jr., DMD
James J. McHugh, Jr., DMD, of Marshfield, died at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, after a short illness, Friday April 22, 2010. He was 83 years old. A resident of Quincy for over 40 years, Dr. McHugh moved to Marshfield in 2001 after his retirement from his private practice of dentistry in Boston. Born in Boston, he grew up in Dorchester, graduating from Boston Boys Latin School, Boston College and Tufts University Dental School. He taught the science of Dentistry at Tufts University Dental School for over 13 years He served our country in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. Beloved husband of the late Barbara L. (White) McHugh. Loving father of Virginia McHugh of Carver, John McHugh of Quincy, Linda Hyde and her husband Joseph of North Easton and Robert McHugh and his wife Lynn of Billerica. Grandfather of Kelsey and Cory Hyde and Nicole and Kathleen McHugh. Brother of Beverly Clinton of Rochester, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street, Milton, Wednesday, April 27 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory may be sent to Norwell Visiting Nurse, 91 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA 02061.
