Joan Marie Healy
Joan Marie Healy, known fondly as “Joanie”, passed away February 5th at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital after suffering a stroke on January 30th, her 70th birthday. At her side were her son Michael Healy and his wife Poppy. Joan was born in Malden and graduated from Malden Girls Catholic High School. She went on to live in Dorchester and South Boston before spending twenty-six years as a resident of Brockton. Most recently, she enjoyed living in the quiet beauty of Pepperell in an apartment overlooking the Nashua River. From 1984 until 2006, she worked in the classified advertising department of The Enterprise. Following her retirement, she volunteered with hospice patients in the Brockton area. In addition to her son and daughter-in-law, Joan leaves behind a wide circle of friends both on the South Shore and in the Nashoba Valley, as well as her beloved “grand-dog” Ladybug. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Joan Healy Memorial Fund through the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Visiting hours will be 4-6:30pm on Saturday, February 12 at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street in Dorchester Lower Mills. A celebration and remembrance of her life will take place at 6:30pm at the same location.

Dear Michael, and Mrs. Healy,
I am greatly saddened by the loss of your mom. As you know, her and I worked together for many years at The Enterprise. She was a good friend that I will always think fondly of. I am thankful her and I had the opportunity to speak on the phone just weeks ago. May God bless you and give you strength during this difficult time. Sincerely, Lori Turner
Michael and Poppy, my sincerest sympathy for your loss. I’ll always remember your Mom with a smile. She was a pleasure to know and work with. She has certainly earned her wings ^j^. ~ Sheila
Dear Michael and Poppy,
I was so saddened when I learned of your mother’s passing. She and I became friends when I was working at Papagno’s Real Estate; calling her weekly to place the housing ads at The Enterprise. We were phone acquaintances first, but then finally met for dinner and became fast friends. Please know that she loved you very much, and was very happy in her new home; closer to you, your wife and her “grand pup”. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Fondly,
