David J. McCarthy, Jr.
David J. McCarthy Jr., of Quincy, a retired engineer for the City of Boston, died at Radius Specialty Hospital, Quincy, Wednesday January 12, 2011. Born in Cambridge, Mr. McCarthy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the beloved husband of Mary F. “Maisie” (Halpin) and the late Josephine R. (Warren) McCarthy. Loving father of David J. McCarthy III of Raynham, Joseph F. McCarthy of Hudson, NH. and Paul J. McCarthy of Weymouth. Stepfather of Maureen and George Kilroy and Karen Fahey. Brother of the late Frederick McCarthy. David is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Agatha Church, Milton, Tuesday, January 18 at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Monday 4-8 PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be sent to American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, Boston MA 02210 or Learning Prep School, 1507 Washington Street, West Newton, MA 02465.
