Edna D. Cardillo

Edna D. (Clayton) Cardillo, a lifelong resident of Dorchester, died Sunday July 11, 2010, at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Newton, she was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Girls High School, Dorchester. Mrs. Cardillo was a librarian for the City of Boston for 32 years.

She was a graduate of Northeastern University and received her master of library science from Simmons College. She worked at the main branch of the Boston Public Library and the Adams Street Library. She retired in 1991.

Mrs. Cardillo was a member of Kit Clark and K-Club, both in Dorchester. She enjoyed quilting.

Devoted wife of the late Robert Cardillo, Beloved mother of Anita Danker and her husband Frederick of Framingham, Arthur Cardillo and his wife Mary of Cranford, New Jersey and Robert Cardillo and his wife Sonia of Dorchester. Loving grandmother of Kristin Reynolds and her husband John of Lowell, Joseph Danker of Mansfield, Arthur Cardillo Jr. and Amanda Cardillo of Cranford, New Jersey and great-grandmother of Justin Reynolds of Lowell.

Visiting hours Wednesday July 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 10:30 AM Thursday July 15 in the Story Chapel at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge (www.mountauburn.org).
