Robert “Bob” J. Bowes, 66, of Dorchester, died at his home after an illness on May 2, 2010. A retired MBTA Bus Driver and Union Delegate to Local 589, Bob was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. He graduated from Dorchester High School. Bob enjoyed traveling to Mexico and taking cruises to many ports of call.

Beloved husband of Jean P. (Rigby) Bowes. Loving father of Tammie Golden and her husband Michael, Bonnie Birchall and her husband Michael, and Robbie Bowes all of Hudson, NH, Sherrie Peterson and her husband Edward of Plaistow, NH and Kim Oliveira of Halifax, MA. Brother of Douglas Bowes of Weymouth and Donald and Thomas Bowes, both of Quincy. Also survived by his grandchildren: Gerald, Justin, Ashley, Jordan, Brianna, Larry and Jacob and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Ann’s Church, Dorchester on Thursday, May 6 at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. MILTON on Wednesday, 4-8PM. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery.
