Charles A. Rota
a retired carpenter, died Thursday October 1 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was 84 years old.
Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Milton High School and served in the United States Navy Pacific Fleet during World War II. After discharge he joined the Carpenters Union, Local 67, retiring after forty years.
Mr. Rota was a lifelong resident of Milton and a member of the Italian American Club of Mattapan.
Beloved husband of the late Theresa (Purpura) Rota. Loving father of Linda Barron and her husband John of Sherborn, Daniel Rota and his wife Kathleen of Avon, Thomas Rota and his wife Robin of Pembroke, Stephen Rota and his wife Charisse of Milton, John Rota and his wife Deborah of Middleboro and Richard Rota of Milton. Brother of Nancy Pena of Braintree, Robert Rota of Milton and the late Alfred Rota. Charles is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Church, Reedsdale Road at Randolph Avenue, Milton, FRIDAY October 9 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, Milton, Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.
