Thomas R. DeSimone

passed away on July 5, 2009 in North Weymouth after battling non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for 4 years. Tom graduated from Somerville High School in 1958, and the Boston Naval Shipyard Apprentice School in 1963 as a Journeyman Electronics Mechanic.

He was employed as a civil service worker for the US Navy 1963-1973 at the Boston Naval Shipyard, worked for General Dynamics in Groton, CT from 1973-1981 and from 1981-1988 he worked as an engineer for the US Air Force at the Hanscom AFB. Mr. DeSimone retired from the US government on April 1, 1988 after 28 years of service.

Tom was an avid jogger and loved to discuss politics. He was very interested in the Cape Wind Project.

He is survived by daughters, Susan and Jennifer DeSimone, son-in-law, Sujoy Guha, granddaughter, Anjoli, brother Louis DeSimone, Sr. and sisters Christine Lynch and Frances Lecesse.

Memorial service Tuesday, July 21, from 11 am to 1 pm at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, Milton with Rev. Sara Marean officiating at 12 Noon.
